In this post I'll talk about face skin.
First of all, if you wanna have a beautiful and natural bright skin, it must be a healty skin. There are more factor that can ruin our skin:
- Low contribution of vitamin and minerals essential for healty skin; it's truly important to eat fruits and vegetables, to feed the skin and have it bright and fresh.
- Low hydration; you should drink two liters of water a day to keep your body hydrated, and if you do sport during the day you should also add at least half a liter of water for every hour of sport.
- Free radicals; they are responsible for skin premature aging. Free radicals go hand in hand with tan... Yes, the sun loved by many, should be in fact avoided like the plague, almost. To counter the free radicals we must take the appropriate amount of anti-oxidants, such as vitamin E.
That's the way you will get the best of your skin, whatsoever kind it is.
It 'a good habit to do a deep cleaning followed by a nice cleansing/refreshing/soothing mask, one or at most twice a week. Another good habit (in addition to being a real pleasure!) is a massage before going to sleep, to stimulate the microcirculation of the face: with certain maneuvers massage can lead to fine-tune the features and enhance the overall appearance of the face. To do this, as in all things, you will need constancy.
Now you're probably wondering how to figure out what kind of skin you have, sooner said than done! When you get up in the morning, without cleaning or touching your face, go and look yourself in the mirror: if your skin is dull and at some point is cracked, you have dry skin; if it is bright and matte your skin is normal; if you have forehead and nose polished but the rest of the face matte you have a combination skin; if you are a triumph of lucidity your skin is oily. One last trick, try not to do this test during ovulation or before period because it would obviously be totally distorted by hormones! It's finally good to remember that the skin changes during the seasons: in general during the spring, the season in which everything is born again, even our skin is at the top of the top; in summertime the skin tends to fatten more than usual because of the heat; in autumn, season somewhere between hot and cold, the skin is more mixed; in the winter, when it reign wind and cold, of course the skin is affected and awareness, and it tends to dry a lot.Now that we understand what type of skin we have, we can switch to see the types of skin and how it should be treated specificall.
Dry skin: dry skin is very hard to moisturize, it has more or less mild flaking and gives the uneasy feeling that the whole face thows. Generally dry skin is also very sensitive and it immediately redden with the attack of external agents such as wind and cold. This type of skin needs a suitable detergent for sensitive skin, such as a mousse formulation, not too aggressive. If you finish washing your face and your skin feels tight, it means that the product does not fit for you. Somebody use microfibre cloths made for cleaning the skin, which are simply wet, without adding chemicals. For this type of skin I cannot recommend the tonic because they are made mostly of water, and that's incredible, the water subtracts hydration to our face! So all those fantastic advertising of moisturizers with the merry women who draw buckets of clear water in their face, are actually a hoax... Regarding hydration you need a rich cream easily absorbed. Finally, when you do deep cleaning (only once a week, and I recommend it very gently!), use a restorative mask, which has soothing and moisturizing properties.
Normal skin: blessed those who have skin like that! Normal skin has the perfect balance between hydration and elasticity. It can be washed with products for normal skin, if you want you can use a refreshing tonic, and I recommend to use one lighter moisture for the day, and a more substantial moisture for the evening. After deep cleaning you can use a purifyng/relaxing/refreshing mask. So you of a small group of normal skin can choose for your skin, and you're the only ones who can do it because in other cases (including mine) is our skin that chooses for us.
Combined skin: this kind of skin is a true cross (guess what type of skin I have?). Some parts of the face are dry, even flaking, other parts are polished, some parts are sensitive, in fact we have an all-inclusive skin! To clean this type of skin it needs a deep cleaning non-aggressive detergent for sensitive skin but also a bit moisturizing... I have tried many products but in the end I always come back to him: Herbalism from Lush. You can also use a cleansing milk, provided it is organic, using a little trick: apply to your dry face the cleansing milk and massage it well, and then remove the excess with disks soaked in water and squeezed. It's a good idea to use a slightly astringent tonic. Regarding moisture, you have to take an oil-free formulation for morning and evening (if the morning one had a touch of matting it would be the top). After the weekly deep cleansing, it should be applied the mask, or best the maskS... Oh yeah, because it should be used not one, but two masks! In the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) we will use a purifying mask, while the rest of the face a nourishing/lighting/refreshing mask.
Oily skin: oily skin should be treated exactly like a combination skin. Isn't advisable using products for oily skin because they are too aggressive, and our skin would react by producing even more sebum, which is the main responsible for the much-hated glossy effect. The only real difference is in the deep cleaning, which in this case must be made twice a week, and about mask after cleaning, which will be purifying/opacifier.
I hope I've exhausted the subject skin. I also hope you enjoyed the article ^_^
See you soon! Bye!
